Every Thar Bengaluru 4x4 trail begins long before the engines fire up—with meticulous reconnaissance and validation from our squad team. Safety, terrain suitability, and driving discipline are non-negotiable pillars of the club’s philosophy (because fixing broken egos is easier than fixing broken vehicles). For this drive, the squad shortlisted a private off-road property professionally maintained by Raxidi Offroaders, reinforcing the club’s commitment to responsible off-roading.

The trail earned its approval only after the squad confirmed it delivered the perfect balance of technical challenge, driving pleasure, and vehicle safety. This disciplined approach saw 40 participants assembling at the Raxidi Estate on 25th January, fully prepared for a structured, high-quality off-road experience and mentally prepared to question their tyre choices.

The event began with a ceremonial gunfire start, instantly setting the mood and ensuring everyone’s adrenaline woke up before their engines did.

The opening obstacle was a water-wading section flanked by rocks on both sides, demanding precise wheel placement, smooth throttle inputs, and complete faith in the spotter especially when the rocks were politely hiding under the water. The submerged stones made the section highly technical rewarding those who listened carefully and gently punished those who didn’t.

Up next was the showstopper: a steep ascent with an estimated 65-degree inclination, complete with a wet, slushy base that offered just enough grip to keep things interesting. This obstacle tested traction management, driver confidence, and the universal off-roader skill of pretending you’re calm while your heart is doing 120 bpm. While some Thars climbed with textbook precision, a few decided to entertain the audience—sliding sideways and dancing up the slope like full-on item numbers. Tyres searched for traction, audience became choreographers, and drivers mastered the art of controlled chaos. Despite the dramatic moves, strict safety protocols ensured everything stayed under control, and every Thar eventually made it up—proving once again that it’s all about the attempt, not just the climb.

The convoy then flowed through streams surrounded by dense, jungle-like trees, giving the drive a full “Amazon-but-with-Thars” vibe, before tackling more slush climbs that demanded steady momentum and steady nerves. After regrouping for a well-earned tea break (because all serious off-roading decisions are best made with chai), the team geared up for the next chapter.

As night fell, the team rolled out for a night estate drive, navigating streams in low visibility and the journey concluded at the homestay, where the Thars transformed from off-road machines into a full-fledged entertainment system. Music played, feet moved, spirits flowed, and we celebrated like only off-roaders can—mud on boots, smiles on faces, and zero regrets.

Another day, another trail conquered !
